“ We have visited here for short overnight stays several times over the years with the previous innkeeper. Our latest visit was for a celebratory dinner and overnight stay for our anniversary - best visit yet! Absolutely beautifully appointed rooms with elegant French manor designer touches still keeping with the provenance of the surrounding countryside. Dinner was delicious and perfectly paced, and ended with a beautiful dessert and complimentary glass of champagne - lovely touch. Breakfast the next morning was served by the wonderful Cheryl and she outdid herself with the best coffee and filled with a delicious assortment of both sweet and savory dishes. Looking forward to our visit this Fall! ”

“ Out for a spring ride and decided to stop at Golden Pheasant for brunch. So glad we did, it was fantastic!! Maddie was very attentive and had great suggestions. We had the endive salad with salmon. Salmon was cooked perfectly, crunchy hazelnuts and crunchy fried goat cheese with all the other ingredients made is a really interesting and delicious salad! The smoked country pain had super crispy sourdough topped with smoked salmon, crab mayo with chunks of crab, avocado, beautifully runny poach eggs and dill hollandaise. I don’t think I can eat an eggs Benedict anywhere else. They have their own pastry chef so we had to try dessert. Creme brulee with lavender whipped cream was rich and creamy, with the perfectly dark but NOT burnt sugar crack on top! The toasted cashew dacquoise was light and crunchy and strawberries were tart and just sweet enough. Great cocktails and coffees. Outdoor seating to overlook the river or the canal. Worth the beautiful ride along the river. Must try. ”

“ We have stayed twice at the Golden Pheasant Inn, and had a wonderful experience both times. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and lovely. The included breakfasts in the sunroom were all delicious, and Cheryl took great care of us with warm and attentive service. Maria was gracious and helpful as well. While not walking distance to any towns, the Inn is a great home base for exploring the surrounding area, and free parking is easily available. Its location between the river and the canal path makes for beautiful views and a relaxing, peaceful stay. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent too, with attractive and comfortable seating areas both inside and outside. ”

“ I can't say enough about the Golden Pheasant Inn. From Maria the manager to all the wait staff. We had booked a dinner reservation and over night stay. The day of our reservation my husband has a medical issue which was gone to affect out reservations day and time. My husband called to cancel our reservation just hours before we were expected to dine. Thinking we would still be charged for our room. I can't say enough about how nice Maria was and totally understanding. We had never been there before so we were so excited to be dinning and stay at the Inn. Maria kindly let me cancel and reschedule without an added fee. Everything was awesome from the atmosphere, the food, all servers and our room. Especially Maria. We will definitely be back. ”

“ Live in NYC and travel to the Golden Pheasant should speak volumes about how much I enjoy my dining experience there. I have been celebrating my birthday here for 8 years now and the ambiance, service and food are the definition of perfection. Golden Pheasant offers inside and outside dining. If you prefer the outside your choice is at back on the patio next to the trail or the top front porch with the Delaware River. As for the service Maria and Gabriel provide a most satisfactory experience. Definitely put a visit on your summer schedule. ”

“ My son and his family and I had a most wonderful meal from the golden pheasant. We had to do take home, because we had 3 children under the age of 5 with us. EVERYTHING was just delicious. We had salad, filet mignon, boneless pork chop, scallops, asparagus risotto and a charcuterie board. Maria was especially helpful as we had a child with food allergies. A perfect meal to celebrate my son's birthday. We will do it again soon! No birthday needed. ”

“ You hold your breath when you rave about a restaurant and suddenly your friends want to meet there for a Saturday night dinner out. Uh oh! Did I speak too highly or will they wonder what you were thinking? Must tell you this place did me proud. My friends want to become regulars here even if it means driving 50 miles. I couldn't have been happier or more proud. The place is romantic. It's stunningly old and a throwback 200 or more years to the stone inns of Colonial days. The menu is awesome, the food exceeds that and service is absolutely lovely. I LOVE walking in the door here and I'm always reluctant to leave. Tonight I sat at the bar and was warmed by the company. This is home. It's quiet enough to talk, share intimate conversation or do as I often do, sit with crossword and sudokus while lingering for a couple hours Interrupted occasionally with an interesting story. Nice people here, too. I hated to leave tonight. Walked in the door and just had to tell you what a lovely and exquisitely fine evening I had. ”
